Lance Gitter
Photography has been a lifelong hobby for Lance Gitter that has now turned in to his passion in life. He had his own darkroom at home as a teenager but it wasn't until 1998 that he joined a camera club for the first time. He has been an active member of the Richmond Hill CC (formerly the York Regional CC) for a dozen years which included two terms as president and a number of years as competitions coordinator and program chair. Lance joined the Toronto Digital Photo Club (formerly the Toronto Guild for Colour Photography, then the Toronto Guild for Photographic Art) in 2001. He has served several terms as competitions or clinic chairperson and is active in the everyday activities of the club operations. He has won a number of trophies and awards at both clubs, including photographer of the year awards. He spearheaded the transition from film to digital integration at both clubs. He enjoys lecturing and running workshops on photography, producing and presenting photoessays and teaches one-on-one photography and digital imaging lessons.
